Public Service Announcement: Don’t file false GM reports

This may seem like common sense to a lot of people, but it came up as an issue recently on the official Customer Support forums. The message is simple: Don’t file false GM tickets. Whether you’re doing it to get back at someone you dislike, to play a prank on someone, or just because you’re bored, don’t do it.

Support forum agent Nevalistis points out that false reports are is against the Game Master interaction policy. Each GM petition is taken seriously, and if the GMs see a pattern of frivolous or false reports, they can and will take action from warnings all the way up to suspension or permanent account closure.

Those of us who have tried to petition a GM lately know how long the queue times are — so from all of us with legitimate problems, please make sure your ticket is legit. It may save your account, it may save a GM’s sanity, and it’ll certainly help those with real problems get the help they need a little faster.

Choose the adventures of the WoW.com staff as we level our characters in <It came from the Blog> on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H).

I wonder if he sings? Oh wait, that’s Captain Hammer.

We interrupt this program to bring you a special announcement: Adammentat and his leveling partner Airaden are nearing level 60 and want to start 40-man raiding in a couple of weeks. Adam is thinking the progression will be: MC, ZG, BWL, AQ20, AQ40. If you are interested, get your level 60+ <It came from the Blog> character ready. Level 60 raids in a few weeks!

We now return you to your program, already in progress.

  • Michael Sacco as Shockbroker, the goblin shaman; Christian Belt, as Selfloathius, the level 16 blood elf warlock; Elizabeth Harper as Faience, the level 24 troll shaman; Matthew Rossi as Andrenorton, the level 17 troll mage; Michael Gray as Grayfields, the level 17 tauren hunter; Lisa Poisso as Prupher, the proofreading tauren; and Gregg Reece as Sandwichdoc, the level 16 troll shaman, will be making appearances as they can.

At some point this weekend, I will be streaming my Choose My Adventure makeup session, beta permitting. You’ll know when as soon as I do. Also, as soon as we can make female worgen and if the worgen starting area is functional at the same time, we’ll put up more Alliance beta options. In the meantime, this week’s polls are after the break.

Early maintenance announcement includes 24 hour downtime for select realms

Blizzard’s already let us know the scheduled downtime for Tuesday, June 29th, quite a bit ahead of their usual late Monday night announcement time. Right now, most realms can expect a normal downtime window of 5 AM to 11 AM Pacific time on Tuesday, June 29th. However, it is time for the next batch of US servers to go down for 24 hours, from 12:01 AM, June 29th to 12:01 AM Wednesday, June 30th.

As with the first batch, the 24-hour downtime will likely be used to get the servers in shape for Cataclysm’s launch, and if we’re lucky, should mean less downtime in the first few days and weeks as everyone comes in to check out the new content.

Check out the full list of servers with extended downtime behind the break:
