Hi, remember me? I've been here since 2004
Joystiq
Let's do a brief math exercise, just for a moment. I've been playing World of Warcraft since some point in December of 2004, as illustrated by the screenshot above. This is March of 2012, which means I've been playing WoW for roughly 87 months.

The Queue: I’ve got TB on my mind

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft.

I’ve found myself doing TB dailies again. I have no idea why I’m doing them again. But I am, dammit, and it’s fun.

Next thing you know, I’m going to be doing the Skyguard stuff, too.

Levi-young asked:

I’ve always wondered if BoE’s always have a chance to drop or if there’s only so many that can drop per raid lockout. For example, let’s say my guild clears all the trash in Firelands w/o dropping any bosses and then resets the instance to do it all again. Will BoE’s keep dropping or will only so many drop for the lockout and then no matter how much trash is killed no more will drop?

The Queue: At least I’ve got video

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky, senior editor at WoW Insider, will be your host today.

That video is in response to yesterday’s Queue.

Also, it is relatively bad ass and is probably something none of us can do.

Cyrromatic asked:

What happened to Arthas’s body? Can’t imagine it laying in front of Bolvar forever.

WoW Moviewatch: I’ve Been Everywhere

I’ve Been Everywhere is a cover of Johnny Cash’s original song by World of Filkcraft. Even if you don’t dig the video itself, then hopefully you’ll certainly enjoy the song. World of Filkcraft has done a great job of translating Cash’s litany of travel to Azeroth.

The song and video are both a little dated, which is no surprise since it was created long before Cataclysm was released. Still, being a sucker for good filk, I couldn’t help but feature it again. You can also pick up the audio track from the creator for free, which makes the whole thing even better.

WoW Moviewatch: The Killers – All These Things That I’ve Done

All These Things That I’ve Done is a music video by Bonkey set to the song of the same name by The Killers. The music video tells the story of an assassin who regrets the deeds of his past. The video is a beautiful example of how music can combine with great imagery to tell a story.

According to Bonkey, this was one of his first attempts at machinima. He says it was a learning experience for him, which makes sense when you look at the scope of the video. There’s so much happening in its 5 minutes of play time that it must have taken quite a bit of work.

There have been moments in my World of Warcraft playing career that I found myself searching for ways to break my addiction to the game.

Breakfast Topic: Oops, I’ve been acting like an elitist jerk

This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the Aol guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider’s pages.

So there I was, fresh off a rant to a friend in Vent about what had just happened that night during what was appearing to be a common occurrence in our raids. I was frustrated (in my own defense, it was just one of those nights when nothing goes right, no matter how hard you try), and that’s when it happened: The deep-down thoughts of ZOMG, how hard can this be, people?! spilled out into a diatribe on why I can’t stand to run with the lot of them, since they “just don’t get it and probably never will!” I named names. I pointed fingers. If there was a bridge to burn, I had brought along the dynamite for extra explosive-y goodness! I was good, they were bad, and I was there to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

It was at that point I realized I had become the bane of every WoW player: the Elitist Jerk (OK, not the Elitist Jerks — those guys and their forums are awesome). As soon as I had finished my speech, the notion of “it’s lonely at the top” had a whole new meaning. Once I had out-classed my friends, they stopped being chatty with me in Vent. It was one lonely night after another. I missed them.

Elitism can strike at any time. The important thing is realizing how to harness, control and manipulate what you know into a vessel that can be used to help those around you become better at their own game.

My story ends well. Once I was able to use my powers for good, my old friends didn’t hold a grudge. Besides, what’s really important in the game for you? Is it the camaraderie of your friends or the satisfaction of being the best?
