World of Warcraft turns 7 years old next week

World of Warcraft will celebrate its 7th anniversary next week on November 23, 2011 and all players that log on during the festivities will earn a feat of strength and a cool Celebration Package. This Celebration Package has an on-use effect that will shoot off fireworks, put a cosmetic-only tabard on your character, and grant a 7% experience and reputation bonus while active. That’s a pretty sweet deal for logging on and having a fun time during the anniversary.
We had heard about a potential tabard item for the anniversary a few months back during the datamining of patch 4.2, so this reward isn’t unexpected but still very welcome. The Baby Blizzard Bear and Onyxian Whelping were awesome rewards back in the day, and I love getting cool, fun items each year. The return of anniversary gifts is a welcome change.

The Queue: Which poster should I get next?

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) will be your host for today.
As my awesome wall of gaming posters and art is coming together, I am at an impasse. There is room on the wall for one more large WoW patch art poster, and I don’t know which to get. There are two that I want, but I can’t decide. You’re going to help me out, The Queue. The Ahn’Qiraj patch art is already on my wall, but you know that if you’ve seen my YouTube stuff or the new WoW Insider Weekly News Update in sparkling video form. Here are my options for my next PrintWarcraft purchase:
- Fury of the Sunwell, patch 2.4
- Secrets of Ulduar, patch 3.1
What say you, Queue?
Hensonite asked:
What am I transmogrifying – the look of an individual item or the look of a “slot”?
Example: If i transmogrify my helmet to look like goggles, will only that helmet change its appearance or will everything I wear on my head be displayed as those goggles?

PvP Season 10 ending as soon as next Tuesday

When the season ends, any conquest points will be converted to honor points. If during the conversion you end up with more honor points than the 4,000 point cap allows, you won’t be able to earn any more honor points until you get yourself below the cap. And if you wait approximately one additional week for season 11 to start, then any honor points above the 4,000 point cap will be converted into 35 silver per point.
The full blue post after the break.

Breakfast Topic: Where will we hang out in the next expansion?

The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King brought players together to neutral cities. With the updated Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms, we’ve returned to our respective capitals as hangouts. After all these months, I still enjoy hanging out in Stormwind, but I can’t help but wonder where we’ll be headed next. We now know Pandaria will have smaller, faction-based hubs … Will we continue to reside in the capitals?
I’d like to see a floating metropolis similar to Dalaran but run by the Goblins of the Steamwheedle Cartel. In my mind, it’s an expanded version of the Speedbarge from Thousand Needles. There are crazy gadgets all over, minigames to play and other fun, Gobliny things. In the center of town is a large neutral Auction House, possibly with a lower fee based on your reputation to try and boost cross-faction trade. A lower level has portholes to see into the ocean and possibly an underwater entrance. Maybe there’s an underwater questing zone below the barge.
The Alliance and Horde sections of the cities could be boats docked to the platform. Each race has a boat so there would be some themed areas for each race to call home and give added flavor to the city. One of the boats for each faction takes you to and from the capital cities. Don’t want to wait for the boat? The Goblins have a transporter you can use to get to any of the old world cities — for a modest fee, of course.
What about you? What are you hoping to see for our next big hangout? A neutral location, or staying in our faction capitals? Or maybe we all move to the Exodar and Silvermoon? (Ack, please no…)

Raid Rx: Thoughts on the next expansion and healers

Wow, what a truly fantastic BlizzCon! Had a blast at the WoW Insider party meeting all of you. I want to take a moment to fire some shout-outs to everyone who approached me just to say hello. It’s quite humbling!
With the new Mists of Pandaria expansion on the horizon, has anything really changed for healing? We didn’t really experience much in terms of a philosophy change. In fact, healing itself was hardly even addressed at all. So what gives? What can we expect for healers going into 5.0? Not much, sadly, but read on anyway.
