Blizzard drops a screenshot titled “Glimpses” with three unknown NPCs, possible patch or expansion hint?

We don’t know where this is from, and the picture is presented by Blizzard with the comment “Interesting.” So we know it’s a glimpse at something coming up. What could that be? It’s possibly related to patch 4.3, or the next expansion. And on that note, it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibilities for Blizzard to start dropping hints for the next expansion now.
Our staff picked up that it’s a generic Stormwind building right away. In fact, the NPC and layout looks very similar to Cordell’s Enchanting in the Mages’ District in Stormwind. That’s pictured below. Obviously, the doodads and room decorations are different, but the layout and NPC spacing is the same.

Officers’ Quarters: The three biggest mistakes new guild leaders make

Every Monday, Scott Andrews contributes Officers’ Quarters, a column about the ins and outs of guild leadership. He is the author of The Guild Leader’s Handbook, available now from No Starch Press.
Starting a new guild in WoW is an uphill battle. Make no mistake: It’s not an endeavor to undertake lightly. Every server has established guilds that you’ll be competing against with an unknown “brand.”
Even so, the number of players you need to recruit to experience most of what WoW has to offer is a mere 12-15. In that sense, taking a guild from an idea to a fully fledged community is much easier now than in the past. For players who are unhappy with their current situation and wondering why they can never find a guild that’s just right for them, why not create your own?
WoW needs dedicated player leadership now more than ever. Too many guilds are failing because their leaders and officers have burned out on the game after playing for so many years.
Taking up the mantle of leadership brings with it many pitfalls. But of all the mistakes that a new leader can make, these three are the ones most likely to turn into major headaches — or even guild-shattering drama.

The Queue: Three of the Four Winds

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.
Do you guys have any characters you’ve named specifically to set up puns with your titles? I didn’t intend it for Most (whose old name was Mostaccioli), but the name works pretty well with almost all “
Daedalus asked:
Okay, probably WAY too early to start (or more likely, continue) this, but….
We’re 6 months out from Blizzcon, and they’re almost sure to be announcing a new expansion this year, so do you WoWInsiders have any predictions/theories/WAG’s, etc?
Boy, do I!

The Council of Three Hammers: Fire and Iron newest leader short story

The fourth leader short story, The Council of Three Hammers: Fire and Iron, was released late last week and chronicles the beginning and the end of Kurdran Wildhammer’s time on the newly formed ruling council of Ironforge. The story describes the early days of the council, the Dark Iron dwarves’ rough integration back into Ironforge society, and the relationship between Kurdran and his stalwart gryphon Sky’ree. The leader short stories have been great so far, and this story is definitely no exception.
